Teen - Volunteering : Teen Volunteering

Volunteer at Perry Memorial Library

We are always looking for energetic and motivated teens to volunteer in the Youth Services Department.  You must be 13 years old to volunteer.  There are two major types of volunteer jobs:  Program Preparation and Shelf Maintenance. The program preparation tasks could include: cutting out crafts for preschool programs, bagging art or science supplies for elementary student programs, setting up the room for a program, and helping with programs like Lego Fun or summer reading events.  The shelf maintenance tasks could include:  dusting and straightening shelves, shelf reading, pulling books for displays or other purposes, shelving books, filling bookmark displays, and other special projects.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please complete the Volunteer Application below or pick one up in the Youth Services Department at the library. Either email your application to Ms. Angie Bates the Youth Librarian at abates@perrylibrary.org  or bring it to her in person.

Homework Help

The Homework Help program is limited to volunteers who are Juniors or Seniors in High School with a 3.0 GPA or above. This program assists kindergarten through eighth grade with general homework in all subjects as well as special help with reading fluency and comprehension on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4-6pm.  Please contact Ms. Angie if you are interested in this program and did not attend the September 20, 2015 organizational meeting.  

Adult Volunteers are also accepted for the Homework Help program.  If you are interested please also contact Ms. Angie.
